MODERN GRANNY

I designed this twelve-piece pullover and cardigan collection by reinventing the traditional Fair Isle knitting. I first created a knit pattern collection including rich patterns mixing classic Fair Isle and lace knitting elements in different shades of brown and neon colors. I then designed garments using rectangular shapes and enlarged elements from my pattern collection to create a ‘modern granny’ style. I knitted the final pieces on a single bed knitting machine, including a dress with flower and lace patterns organized in a granny square like composition as well as a vest with flowery lace and transparent knitting patterns.
