JARDIN | CLOTHING

The theme of this project was French painting in the early 20th century. Both of my womenswear and knitwear collections have been inspired by Louis Valtat's "Madame Valtat au Jardin à Anthéor" piece made in 1901. My aim was to highlight the romantic style of the painting while referring to the women's fashion of the Edwardian era. The finished look of my fashion design specialisation consists of a sheer organza dress and a PVC jacket with a floral tulle lining. To emphasise the romantic atmosphere of the painting, both garments were complemented with additional handmade floral appliqués.
