JARDIN | KNITWEAR

The theme of this project was French painting in the early 20th century. Both of my womenswear and knitwear collections have been inspired by Louis Valtat's "Madame Valtat au Jardin à Anthéor" piece made in 1901. My aim was to highlight the romantic style of the painting while referring to the women's fashion of the Edwardian era. For my knitwear collection, I experimented with mesh-like patterns, focusing on the pastel colors and flowery details of the painting. I knitted the chosen dress on a single bed knitting machine, using three different knitting patterns: a floral lace pattern, a geometric V-shaped pattern and a wavy pattern recalling the blurred colors of the painting.
