VANDA KLEIN
CIRCLE
The aim of this experimental project was to design a garment using only simple geometric shapes. The circle became the main element of my designs and I chose organic shapes and layered textures found in nature as a source of inspiration. Before creating my final garment, I made various silhouette iterations with the draping technique, using 6 rigid circular shapes of different sizes, on which I layered pleated, folded and gathered circles made of different types of scrap material. Since I used the same elements over and over again to create the different tests, I was able to significantly reduce the amount of purchased materials as well as the amount of textile waste associated with the project.
